All of the profiles defined for a fabric are collected in a version. Creating a new version allows you to make incremental changes to your profiles without effecting all of the containers running in the fabric. Containers only have access to the profile set from a single version.
When you create a new version, all of the profiles from the parent version are copied into the new version to provide a stable, well known base. Once the new version is created, you can edit the profiles without effecting running containers. Containers must then be migrated to the new version for the profile changes to take effect.
To create a new profile version:
Select from the top menu.
The Fuse Profiles page opens.
Click .
The Create New Version dialog appears.
In the Name field, enter a unique name for the version.
If you leave the Name field blank, Fuse Management Console will use the next available numeric version. For example, if version 1 existed, Fuse Management Console would create version 1.1.
From the Parent Version drop down list, select the version from which the new version will originate.
If no parent version is selected the most recently created version will automatically be used as the parent version.
Click .
The dialog will close and the new version will be listed in the Versions table.
